Eintracht Frankfurt - 2 Illos - May 2024

I was able to make a drawing for german soccer-club EINTRACHT FRANKFURT on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of one of the most legendary football matches!

It's about "The mother of all relegation battles": On May 29, 1999, Eintracht Frankfurt achieved the unthinkable by beating Lautern 5-1 - and staying in the league 1. The striker Fjörtoft scored the saving 5th goal, a pass past the keeper and then straight into the goal - with which Eintracht was able to push past Nuremberg at the last second and prevent the big drama. If you ask the fans in Frankfurt, this game is still one of the most legendary in the club's history - for me personally too. I, like half of football-germany (PayTV wasn't that widespread back then), listened the radio conference with all my family on the radio in the garden, spellbound , it was the day of my confirmation. I was able to immortalize this moment in this illustration - so cool!

Ich durfte ich anlässlich des 25igsten Jubiläums eines der legendärsten Fußballspiele eine Zeichnung für EINTRACHT FRANKFURT machen!

Es geht um "Die Mutter aller Abstiegskämpfe": Am 29.05.1999 schaffte die Eintracht durch ein 5:1 gegen Lautern das Undenkbare, den Klassenerhalt. Der Stürmer Fjörtoft machte das rettende 5. Tor, einen Übersteiger vorbei am Keeper und dann satt ins Tor - mit dem die Eintracht sich noch in letzter Sekunde an Nürnberg vorbeischieben konnte und das große Drama verhindern konnte. Fragt man die Fans, ist dieses Spiel immer noch eines der Legendärsten der Vereinsgeschichte - für mich persönlich auch, ich habe die Radiokonferenz, wie halb Fussballdeutschland (PayTV war damals noch nicht so weit verbreitet), mit meiner ganzen Verwandtschaft gebannt im Garten im Radio verfolgt, es war der Tag meiner Konfirmation. Diesen Moment durfte ich in dieser Illu verewigen - so cool!
