SCHIRN Buchklub - “Kunst für keinen” - Cover and three Single-Pages - April 2022

LITERATURE FOR EVERYONE! After I have been interviewed by the SCHIRN team for the 069 magazine, I was allowed to illustrate the first issue of the new "BOOKCLUB" publication. From now on, every major exhibition at the SCHIRN Kunsthalle will be accompanied by a series of BOOKCLUB readings. At the meetings, there will be readings of readings and texts on the exhibitions with the guests in order to open up new perspectives and build bridges to the art - this will then always be accompanied by a limited edition publication designed by an illustrator.

For the publication of the BOOKCLUB #1 to the exhibition KUNST FÜR KEINEN (to be seen since 04 March 2022!), here with 140 works artistic biographies are illuminated between 1933 and 1945 away from the Nazi regime, four illustrations were created by me. In addition to the cover cover, the main topics are "Inner Emigration", "Dictatorship" and "(Guilt and) Displacement" - all unfortunately still current topics, as we all as a world community had to realize this now again.

LITERATUR FÜR ALLE! Nachdem ich schon für das 069 Magazin vom SCHIRN-Team interviewt worden war, durfte ich nun die erste Ausgabe der neuen "BOOKCLUB"-Publikation illustrieren. Von nun an wird jede große Ausstellung in der SCHIRN Kunsthalle mit einer Reihe von BOOKCLUB-Lesungen begleitet, bei den Treffen werden mit den Gästen Lesungen von Lektüren und Texten zu den Ausstellungen stattfinden, um neue Perspektiven zu eröffnen und Brücken zur Kunst zu schlagen - dazu gibt es dann immer eine limitierte Publikation, die von einem Illustrator gestaltet wird.

Für die Publikation des BOOKCLUBs #1 zur Ausstellung KUNST FÜR KEINEN (seit 04. März 2022 zu sehen!), hier werden mit 140 Werken künstlerische Biografien zwischen 1933 und 1945 abseits des NS-Regimes beleuchtet, sind vier Illustrationen von mir entstanden. Neben dem Coverumschlag geht es um die Themenschwerpunkte "Innere Emigration", "Diktatur" und "(Schuld und) Verdrängung" - alles leider nach wie vor aktuelle Themen, wie wir alle als Weltgemeinde dies nun erneut feststellen mussten.
